Changelog

Android 1.2.0 – iOS/iPadOS 1.2.4

Bugs fixed:

  • Some void animals like the Honumara were able to enter the corridors (background layer only, needed fish blocker too)
  • A few unreachable stars
  • Disappearing motile lifeforms, overlapping caves and caves not spawning (same problem at the origin)
  • Misplaced blobs
  • Spam tapping encyclopedia icons increased size of icons
  • Some caves had tiny holes allowing you to exit the playable area (especially with the tiny jellyfish)
  • Effects visible after respawn
  • Fishes can no longer block puzzle solving
  • No more rock accumulation because of a stuck animal in areas with falling rocks
  • Mapuras spawning inside falling rocks.
  • And more…

New content:

  • New playable jellyfish
  • Small sessile lifeforms
  • New toxic fish
  • Harorekino replaced by a new sponge called Ahopiro. There’s no mushroom in water so I needed to remove this as upcoming updates are educative and looking for scientific accuracy.

Gameplay fixes or tweaks:

  • Carnivorous anemone removed. A new model (compatible with the new world generation method) will be added in an upcoming update.
  • The new toxic sponge is not placed as badly as the Harorekino was sometimes. It won’t be as hard to bypass them in case of narrow cave.
  • Damaging fishes no longer spawn in narrow caves
  • Puzzle areas now all have direct exits if you don’t want to do the puzzle
  • Many tweaks in existing caves to improve the gameplay, some requested by players.
  • The rare anemone so many players struggle to find now spawns dynamically and it’s easier to find.
  • The Parakuka can no longer enter the Humenganui.

Performance optimizations:

  • Overhauled world generation. Much faster and efficient than the previous version. Great for your device’s battery and for the environment. <3

Maintenance:

  • Game engine updated from Unity 5.7 (2016) to Unity 2021.3.x (quite a work)
  • Updated shaders (all latest fish shaders to come in upcoming updates)
  • New and improved save game system compatible with Seashine version 2.x.x (the big update). Kohatora stones are now saved to iCloud (on Apple devices) and Google Play Games Services (Android devices) even if you didn’t use them to unlock a secret lifeform.

Visuals:

  • Cleaner rock texture
  • New models for the foreground fishes (they use the new fish vertex animation shader)

Misc:

  • Ads and Unity Ads SDK completely removed.
  • Unity Analytics removed completly to better protect your privacy.
  • Screen adaptation for all the new types of screens since the last update.
  • Some lifeforms missing in the encyclopedia in previous versions now have an icon and a description.
  • Text corrections in the encyclopedia.
  • Merged the « flora » category in the encyclopedia with the « animalia ». There are only animals in the encyclopedia now.
  • New bug report interface and « Report a bug » button activating when you type « ANANAS » using the Seashine logo letters in the main menu.
  • Minimum Android version supported is now Android 6.0 ‘Marshmallow’
  • Android devices below 1536 MB of RAM are no longer able to download the game on Google Play
